Perception means the way in which things are understood or interpreted by a person. Perception is often affected when a person has delirium. If you are worried that the person you are with might have delirium look for the following signs:

• Is the person seeing things that are not there?

• Is the person hearing things that are not there?

• Does the person seem to have paranoid ideas?
