Living with Dementia

A woman lifts a pillow onto a made bed.

If you are living with dementia you are likely to get delirium if you get an infection, illness or have an operation.

Sometimes this is not serious but it might cause you some problems.

Delirium can make you more confused, cause difficulties with going to the toilet, sleeping or eating.

If you feel you might be getting delirium, speak to the person who helps you.

Having delirium can be frightening, but it will get better when your infection or illness has been treated.

Delirium can cause you to misunderstand what is happening around you and might make you feel angry. If you feel like this, you can ask the person who helps you to use our simple guides to help you:

Do's and Don'ts when a person with Delirium is upset.
